Last year I decorated a couple of candles – so I thought I’d have another go. It’s better to use a candle which doesn’t have a shiny film, but I wasn’t able to find any like that. My first attempt didn’t work so I stamped the image again and this time I coloured it on the wrong side. This time it did work, but I think it had more to do with the fact that, by then, I had melted off a portion of the film so it stuck on more easily. I wrapped a wide red ribbon around the candle – just below the image – and then wrapped a memory Box Frosty Border around so the ribbon could be seen thru the design. I needed to cut out 2 of these and I glittered them before wrapping a narrow red ribbon around the base of the die cut. I added some Aleene’s Glitter Snow and Glamour Dust to the fur on James’ hat.
I took the picture with a red background to show the white candle better. Next time I use this image on a candle I’ll make James a darker colour, and I’ll also get rid of part of the film before I start.
What I used –
LOTV image – James with cracker – coloured with Promarkers
White candle tissue paper
Memory Box Frosty Border die – glittered with Aleene’s Glitter snow and Glamour Dust
Ribbons and gem from my stash
