Little mermaids

This is a birthday card for one of my granddaughters – who will be 7 in a few weeks.   She enjoys swimming and loves to come up out of the water with her long hair streaming behind her – I guess she would really like to be a mermaid!!   I used the LOTV stamp – Mermaid Friends – and coloured it with Promarkers.   I glittered the mermaids’ tails with Stickles Diamond, dotted liquid pearls in blue and white and added a couple of adhesive pearls as well.   To make the seaweed effect paper I had another attempt at distressing with glycerine and Distress Ink – this time I was more liberal with the glycerine and it worked much better.   Once the distressed paper dried I ran it thru the embossing folder and rubbed 2 inks over it.  The ribbon, pearls and gems are from my stash, and the sentiment is from LOTV.   The heart button and the twine are from the Ribbon Girl.
