San Francisco by Scott McKenzie is one of my all time favourite songs, so this is a card with my take on it. The song goes back to 1966, when , during my college summer holidays, I worked on the Isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland. Every day we would hear it playing and the teenagers would go around with flowers in their hair. It was a hippy sort of era, part of the Swinging Sixties but, even though I was a student in Edinburgh then, the Sixties pretty much swung past me.
I thought Lomasi, by Sylvia Zet, looked as though she might be heading for San Francisco with some flowers in her hair. This is a gorgeous image and I coloured her with promarkers in purple and turquoise. I printed the image again several times to make the flowers for her hair – a bit of a fiddle to cut out though. The heart banner die is by La La Land, the swirl is a magnolia die and the 2 corners are a Cheery Lynn die which I altered slightly. I used papers in shades of lilac and turquoise, the small sentiment stamps are by LOTV, the ribbon and bells are from my stash and the purple pearls are from Ribbon Girl.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges –
