Dolls’ Clothes

I’ve always enjoyed sewing and knitting which could be one of the reasons I trained as a Home Economics teacher – a long time ago.  I made a lot of clothes for my children when they were small, and as my daughter got older I made her evening dresses and her wedding dress.   There is a great sense of achievement in creating something – especially something that is different in some way to everyone else’s outfits.  I knitted clothes for Sindy and Action Man, and made 3 little quilted sleeping bags – one for Sindy and one each for my sons’ Action Men.  They went camping in Sindy’s tent and abseiled down a rope from the handles on our sideboard.   Recently I made clothes for one of my granddaughter’s Sindy dolls – as she loves to play with the clothes I made for her auntie many years ago.

The first photo is of the dolls clothes I made over 30 years ago, and the second one shows the ones I made for my granddaughter recently.

As You Like It Challenge – What Do You Make Other than Cards – and Why                                  http://asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.fr/2017/02/what-do-you-make-other-than-cards-and.html

Bunnies Flower Pot

We’re having some very wet and windy weather at the moment, and tomorrow is supposed to be even worse  – not a day for venturing out, and I really want to get out into the garden soon.  We’ve had a problem with moles and last week we counted 22 mole hills – not what we wanted to see…however we finally got the little creature, and since no more eruptions have occurred we think there was just the one – he certainly had been busy…Lol!!

I’ve made another Easter card – this time for my youngest granddaughter – so I’m gradually working thru them.  I used another cute bunny image from Di’s Digis, coloured it with Promarkers and Copics, and die cut around the image with a stitched circle die.  The papers are from Nitwits and the ribbon, and gems are from my stash.  I die cut 2 butterflies using First Editions dies, 4 blooms with an old die that I can’t remember where it came from and the “lace” is a Doohicky die – I think.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Hanging the Sleeping Basket

We have another challenge starting today at Fab’n Funky, and our teamie Jan has chosen the theme Baby.  Our sponsor is A Day for Daisies and they are giving the lucky winner a $12 gift voucher for their store.

A Day for Daisies very kindly gave the Design Team their choice of images to play with and here is my card using Hanging the Sleeping Basket available here.

Hanging the Sleeping Basket

I just love this image and it makes the perfect baby card – this time I coloured it in shades of purple, but there are so many other colours I could have used – it’s so versatile.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics and glittered the fairy’s wings with Stickles Star Dust.  The papers are from my stash – distressed at the edges.  The flowers, pearls and baby feet charm are from the Ribbon Girl, the sentiment is from LOTV and the ribbon is from my stash.  The butterfly die cuts are from First Edition dies and the trails were made with liquid pearls.

Daffodil Bunny

This is my first post for almost two weeks – we have been busy with DIY and then our son and his family were staying with us over the weekend.  They were skiing quite near us and came here for a few days after that.  It was great to see them all again, although it just wasn’t long enough…!!!  My granddaughter spent quite a bit of time in my craft room, where she made some cards and also “acquired” some of my craft stuff – a good excuse for me to buy more……

I made this card for another of my granddaughters – using Daffodil Bunny from Di’s Digi Stamps.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics, and die cut around it with a stitched circle die.  The papers are from my stash and I embossed one of them.  The butterflies were die cut from First Editions dies and the corner is a La La Land Corner die – all coloured with distress ink.  The gems and ribbon are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.

Phantasi 7

We have another new challenge starting today at Fab’n Funky – it’s a Bingo theme chosen by our lovely teamie Buffy.

You can choose any line – horizontal, vertical or diagonal – but please say which one you have chosen.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Stamps for Joy

with a great prize for the lucky winner
Digi Stamps for Joy very generously gave the Design Team images to play with, and I used Phantasi 7 – available here.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics and fussy cut around it.  I put the image onto a mix of yellow and black circles and added flowers and die cut leaves.  The black pearls are from my stash.
