Cheesy Mice on the Moon

I’ve wanted to make a Z fold card since I saw one before Christmas and I looked on You Tube for the instructions.  There was a lot of measuring and extra pieces added, and I never got round to making it.  Then I saw a simpler way to do it and I’ve used that method – thanks Lilibet for the inspiration.

I printed a starry background, distressed it with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers, and put it onto a piece of yellow card.  I distressed the long narrow piece with the same colours but made it a bit darker.  The image – Cheesy Mice on the Moon, is from Di’s Digis, coloured with Promarkers and cut with a circle die.  The moon is a circle – cut a second time to give the crescent shape – and the stars are the waste from a Joanna Sheen star border.  These were cut from yellow paper and dabbed with canary yellow ink to make them brighter.  The sentiment is computer generated, the ribbon is from my stash and the star charm is from The Ribbon Girl.

Jasmine Phone

This is my second post today about the Fab’n Funky Challenge – so if you’ve read my earlier one you will already know some of what I’m about to say.

This week – for our challenge – Kids and Teenager Birthday – we’re sponsored by LOTV who are celebrating their 13th birthday today.

LOTV LOGO FOR WEB

LOTV have been producing fantastic stamps for 13 years and today you can see some sneak peaks of their next release on the Fab’n Funky blog.  The Design Team were given some of the new stamps to make as sneak peaks and we were also given some of their Jasmine and Oliver images.

This is my card using Jasmine Phone available here.

Jasmine - Phone

I coloured the image with Copics and cut round it with a stitched square die, then cut it again to make it a rectangle.  I made a frame in the same way and distressed it.  The papers are from Nitwits Oh La La collection and the lace and gem are from my stash.  The birthday banner is a First Edition die and the flower is also die cut, but I can’t remember where it is from.

You can see all the details of this challenge, as well as a good many fantastic cards made by my team mates, on the Fab’n Funky blog.

Warming Up

Our new challenge at Fab’n Funky is Kids and Teenager Birthdays.  We are sponsored by LOTV and it’s their 13th birthday today.

LOTV LOGO FOR WEB

It’s so exciting for them as they are now a teenager, and at Fab’n Funky we’re excited too – as we’re doing sneak peaks of some of their new images which will be released on 20th May.

LOTV gave the Design Team some of their new images to play with, and this is my card using a sneak peak of Warming Up.  Isn’t she delightful – just perfect for any little Birthday Girl.

Warming Up

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics and cut around it with a Spellbinders Curved Rectangle die.  The heart die at the side is from Doohickey dies.   I distressed the edges of the papers and added flowers from the Ribbon Girl and ribbon from my stash.  The sentiments are from LOTV –  embossed with white embossing powder.

Take a look at the Fab’n Funky blog where you’ll see more sneak peaks of some of the gorgeous stamps LOTV have lined up for you in their next release.

Fairy Swing

I decided to get away from my favourite pink – but as you can see I didn’t get very far from it.  The background colour is different for me – so I guess that’s a start.  The image is Fairy Swing from All Dressed Up, and I coloured it with Promarkers and Copics and cut around it with an oval die.  The outer ring was cut with fancy scissors and distressed with Peacock Feathers DI.  I love these web dies from Joanna Sheen and I glittered them with Stickles Crystal.  The tiny butterflies were cut with a punch and embossed, as were the fern dies.  The flowers are from the Ribbon Girl, and the heart charm and the pearls are from my stash.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Mice with Bees

I hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend – it’s been like winter here, with frost on the ground for the past 3 days, but the sun is shining again and it’s warm enough to work in the garden this afternoon.

The image on my card is Bee Mine Mice from Di’s Digi designs, which I coloured with Promarkers, and I cut around this with a stitched square die.  I cut a larger stitched frame in pink and sprayed it with Spray and Sparkle.  The ribbon, pearls and small bee charm are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.  The web and flowers are cut with dies from Joanna Sheen – the web is embossed with glitter powder and the flowers are sprayed with Spray and Sparkle.
